Forestry Training Institute was established in 1978 and moved to Gwangneung forest which provides the best natural environment in Korea in 1989, integrated with Korea forest Research in 1999 and was reborn as Forest Human Resources Development Institute under the Korea Forest Service in January 2006.

Forest Human Resources Development Institute devotes to cultivate renovative and professional man power who will lead the forest welfare country in the 21st century.

To promote this more effectively. we conduct various education programs on forest tending, city park and green zone management, conservation of forest ecosystem and forest fire protection, in accordance with the international trend of sustainable forest management.

Accordingly Forest Human Resources Development Institute is operating Action Learning. Self -Directed Learning(SDL), Cyber Education and so on. We also conducts education programs on forest policies and how to make income out of forest industry for civilians and forestry successors.

We also carry out forest fire protection programs for civil servants and workers to prevent and suppress forest fire. We Provide the upright information to young generation and teachers of primary and secondary schools, and promote the importance of tees, forest and forest ecology.
